As part of my bachelor's degree, I was required to do a 12-week internship in the chemical engineering industry. From January 9th, 2017 until March 31st, 2017 I worked hard at the Berliner Wasserbetriebe.
The main objective of this internship was to learn how chemical analysis works in an industrial-type setting. I verified trace amounts of many different elements in Berlin's water, mostly with the help of spectroscopy methods. I particularly enjoyed using an ICP to measure trace amounts of different metals present in our drinking and waste water.
Unfortunately, I can't share my report for this internship for legal reasons - I signed an NDA that apparently extends even to things I wrote myself and don't reveal anything about the processes themselves.
