During my stay at UCSC, I really wanted to join a chess club. Unfortunately, it seemed like there were none already set up, so I started a small chess club of my own.

Together with two friends, we'd meet up every week and play chess. It was mostly just sparring practice and little practice for openings and tactics, but it was still fun.

As it turns out, someone else was also trying to set up a chess club, so we joined in in his efforts. Hopefully he'll manage to keep the club going for the rest of the time he's at UCSC. Still, it was a fun experience being a really big part of the chess club, and I am seriously considering starting a club at the TU.
